Kathleen Young, MA, LPC

You want to feel better, and I can help

Are you feeling stuck in the aftermath of a difficult or traumatic experience—whether it happened recently or years ago? You may notice that certain situations, interactions, or even subtle reminders trigger intense emotional or physical reactions that feel out of proportion or hard to control. Many people wonder Why can’t I just get over this?.  The truth is, trauma isn’t something you simply move past—it’s something your mind and body continue to respond to until it’s fully processed.

For over 25 years, I’ve helped individuals understand these patterns and gently shift them. My approach is collaborative, supportive, and practical. Together, we’ll build awareness, process past experiences, and develop tools that allow you to respond to the present with greater clarity and choice.

I specialize in the treatment of trauma, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and relationship issues. I am also a certified provider of Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), an evidence-based therapy that helps the brain reprocess distressing experiences so they no longer feel overwhelming or intrusive.

Taking the first step can feel difficult—but it can also be the beginning of something better.

Erin Jameson Saltzburg, MSSW, LCSW

I'm here when you are ready

My goal as a therapist is to partner with you to figure out better ways to manage the turmoil of life and cope with change and loss. I will encourage you to consider that you can endure the pain and show you that there is a path forward.

I specialize in Perinatal Loss and Reproductive Trauma. This is a very important part of my practice and covers issues such as infertility, miscarriage, stillbirth, recurrent pregnancy loss, TFMR, pregnancy after loss, anxiety during pregnancy, premature birth, traumatic birth experiences and NICU stays.

Additionally, I work with other kinds of grief and loss, coping with a narcissistic partner, anxiety and various life transitions such as changing jobs, divorce, re-marriage and becoming a parent. I am trained in Brainspotting, a clinical intervention that can be used for trauma.

In our sessions together, I will offer you emotional validation and support, ask questions, provide information and education, teach skills, encourage you to explore your thoughts, feelings and experiences, support you in connecting with self-compassion and guide you towards acceptance and healing. Most importantly, I will create a holding space- a place that feels safe and secure to sit with your pain and vulnerability.

Some quick facts about me: I am a graduate of Columbia University, School of Social Work, New York, NY with over 25 years of experience as a clinician. I also have additional training in Perinatal Mental Health, Loss and Trauma. I am licensed to practice in both PA and NJ.
